2. Hosting & Website Delivery (Cloudflare)

We host this website via the Cloudflare Pages service provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

When you access our web pages, Cloudflare records technically necessary connection data in server log files (e.g. IP address of the requesting device, date and time of access, requested URL, browser type, and operating system). This is necessary to deliver the website reliably, fast, and protected against cyber attacks (such as DDoS attacks).

Legal Basis: Processing is based on our legitimate interest in providing a secure, fast, and flawless website pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

Data Transfer to the USA: Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). In addition, we have concluded Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) and a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR with Cloudflare.

3. Local Storage & No Tracking Cookies Without Consent

We do not use invasive tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising profiling tools by default on our website.

We only use your browser's local storage function (Local Storage) for technically necessary and user-selected preferences:

theme: Remembers whether you prefer Light Mode or Dark Mode.
kasu_affiliate_consent: Stores whether you accepted or declined link optimization (Bounceless Tracking via Awin).

Legal Basis: Storing these settings on your terminal equipment is technically strictly necessary to provide the telemedia service explicitly requested by you (§ 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG).

If you contact us by email, the information you provide, including your contact details, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.

Legal Basis: This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if your inquiry is related to the performance of a contract or necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Retention Period: The data you send us remains with us until you ask us to delete it or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

6. Affiliate Partner Programs & Commission Settlement

To provide our editorial content free of charge, we participate in various affiliate marketing partner programs. When you click on such a link (affiliate link) and subsequently purchase a product at the respective partner shop, we may receive a commission. This does not change the price for you as a buyer.

In order to accurately attribute and settle these commissions, it is technically necessary for the partner network to trace that you came to the partner shop via a link on our website and whether a purchase was made. We embed affiliate links from the affiliate network of AWIN AG, Eichhornstraße 3, 10785 Berlin, Germany.

Our links are stored in the source code as regular redirect links (awin1.com). If you have disabled JavaScript or do not grant consent, no scripts or data are transferred to Awin when you visit our website. Clicking a link directs you to the partner store via the Awin tracking domain.

If you explicitly consent via our banner, the Awin Publisher MasterTag script is loaded for technical acceleration (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). This enables redirects without noticeable intermediate hops (Bounceless Tracking) by asynchronously transmitting click parameters and a background beacon.
